What kind of therapy?
I first trained and qualified in dramatherapy, which means that I learned psychotherapy through the prism of metaphor, active imagination, and creative expression.
In the past few years, I have worked in a systemic therapy model, which is about understanding individuals in relationship with others, rather than in isolation. It seeks to identify deeply entrenched patterns within an individual's relationships and within groups.
I have recently concluded a specialisation in psychosexual therapy at The Centre for Psychosexual Health in London, which takes a holistic approach to our personal relationship to sex and sexuality, as well as to our sexual and romantic relationships with others.
My training and experience includes several well-known approaches, and I describe myself as an Integrative Therapist, in both theory and practice. I am comfortable with many approaches and ways of working, because I have come to believe that the client’s understanding of the world, and the relationship between client and therapist, are the most important components of the therapeutic process.
I have worked with children as young as 5 and adults all the way up to 65. I have worked with clients for as little as 1 session, and for more than 100 sessions, in individual and group therapy sessions. My understanding and experience of personal processes is extensive, varied, and flexible.
I can help with:
Feeling more self-compassion and authenticity
Gaining new perspectives and insights
Being more present and grounded
Having healthier relationships and boundaries
Creating stronger integration and cooperation of different identities
